How to Use Gree Ac Remote Setting for Max Cooling ?
If your Gree Air Conditioner is not Cooling there are several things to consider. May be it’s just that you changed it’s mode.
Ideal Remote Settings for Gree Ac Cooling :
- Make Sure Cool mode is on, when it is on, a Tree icon will be displayed on the remote control and you will be able to set the temperature.
- For Quick Fast Cooling when you enter the room and turn on the Ac and want cool air immediately in a hot weather, Just Press Turbo Button on your Gree remote control. In turbo mode, fan speed will be maxium.
- If you are not using Turbo, then use the maximum fan speed, so that the air in the room should circulate fast.
- In my experience Grill Direction is very important, make sure vertical swing is down and fan speed can be felt on the floor instead of roof.
Things To Check if Gree Ac is not Cooling :
If all above settings are fine, but your Gree Ac is not cooling properly. Then Check these things :
- Clean Air Filter : Check your Gree Air Conditioner’s Air Filter, just lift up the panel on indoor unit, there is a simple Vent shaped air cleaner, make sure to clean it regularly.
- Seal Windows and Doors : Check windows and door, if there is a gap below the door, it will leak the cooling. Similarly gaps in the window will leak the cooling. So, make sure to properly seal your Ac room.
- Call A Professional : If your Air Conditioner is still not cooling after performing all above task, Call a professional for Ac maintenance and repair staff. They will do the normal servicing and check for the gas leakage in pipes between indoor and outdoor unit.

Is it possible to Lock most or all remote functions, except power. and temperature?
I don’t think that’s possible, if you get to know it somewhere then let me know. Some remotes of other brands have hard sliding cover which you may replicate by doing a DIY. A simple DIY that will look horrible could be to put the remote in a shampoo bottle and cut off the Power and Temperature button area.
hoe to get it off c to f
Power OFF your Gree Ac, then press MODE and Down arrow to switch
My gree split turns on early am even with batteries out of remote
Turn off the timer using remote controller.
When I turn on my Gree AC on heat mode so it works for a 15 minutes.after it it’s screen shown (df). What is mean of df.
Nothing to worry, ‘df’ means defrost, when outside temperature is very low, your ac stops heating the room and divert the heat towards outdoor unit. it will start heating the room again in 15 minutes
Is there a way to set the unit lower than 61 degrees in heat mode? I’m going to florida for 5 months and don’t need that much heat to maintain my home.
Use energy Saving Mode in heat mode. Press Temp and Clock buttons together to activate or deactivate. It will set the temperature to 8 degree celcius.
What does E7 indicate?
Thanks for your answer and your time
Hi Michael, It means there is a problem with outdoor unit fan, check it physically if something blocking it, otherwise it will be electrical issue, means damaged wire or sensor.
You’re most welcome
Is there any way to display the room temperature on the remote control display? I check all the functions (I Feel/Temp buttons) it shows icon on the remote control but does not display the temperature. Thanks
Sure it does display when you press TEMP button, but it displays only for 2,3 seconds. Keep an eye on the indoor unit display, and then press the button.
How to check indoor temerature in AC remote display?
Press TEMP button multiple times until you see correct icon, Indoor Temperature will be displayed for 2-3 seconds and then SET temperature will display. Read more above
Hi. I need to use my ac as a dehumidifier, hence I need to have my ac running for 1 hour everyday in dry mode using the time on/off function. Is it possible to set a specific setting when the ac turns on regardless of the settings currently on the remote? For example, I use my ac with heat settin at 30c when I sleep at night and leave remote at that setting before swithcing ac off. Then, at 10am I need the ac to automatically swith on in dry mode at 22c.
Hi Ryan, i don’t think that’s possible as it will turn on with the last setting. You can set the timer ON/OFF function once, but you will need to select Dry mode before switching off ac.
Hi – I’ve recently purchased the Gree AC and find it quite frustrating to use. When I turn on the AC to 21 Celsius it blows nice cold air for about 5 mins, then no more cold air but just blowing air. I have it in cold mode, I removed the tree and house symbol. Does to stop blowing cold air because it thinks the room reaches the desired temperature? As the other half of my room isn’t cool yet. Not to mention it feels as though the AC is also making the room humid. I read the symbols on the manuals but it doesn’t quite explain what it does but only explains how to use that function but not exactly what it’s for (eg: the tree symbol). I just want the room to be cooled not just for 5 mins. I am not using any timers either.
Hi Mel, i understand your frustration. First Reset your Gree Ac Remote. Set the Cooling Mode and Then Set the Temperature to 16 degree Celsius to check the settings, if it works correctly then raise the temperature.
However, if you live in a humid area with more rains, the problem is not the temperature, actual problem is humidity. So, set DRY mode instead of Cooling mode.
Hi Talha,
Thank you so much for your reply. I will try it.
On the dry mode setting, will it act as a dehumidifier only and not blow cold air? Or does it also blow cold air?
Additionally, what exactly does the tree symbol and the symbol with the house with the arrows pointing in and out mean? What do these functions do?
Thanks so much in advance.
Mel
Hi Mel, You’re most welcome
Yes, in Dry mode, it will not blow cold air.
Tree/House icons are Health Scavenging Functions. Used to remove odors and bring fresh air. Click the link to read more
How to change the unit of temperature in the remote controller?

Hello from South Florida,
I just moved into an apartment with models: LIV09HP230V1B and LIV12HP230V1B. Is there a way to set up the remote as a thermostat so that when the temperature in either room goes above 75’ F the AC will cool off the room automatically without me touching remote? I would also like for the AC to turn off automatically when temperature in room is at 75’ F
Currently, I am putting AC on at 75’ F and it will remain on until I power it off. Everything is done manually which means when I am away for
The day apartment gets very warm or it gets so cold and doesn’t turn off until I do it
Question # 2. The 12HP model makes a whistling/squeaking sound. You hear it running. The 09 HP is silent. Any advice?
I have the white and Black remote that displays following buttons:
Mode. Power. Fan
Swing ^. Turbo
Sleep. ¥. Temp
Clock. I feel . light
Timer on/Timer off
Thank you so much !
Air Conditioner is supposed to Turn Off automatically when the given temperature is reached, apparently the thermostat sensor is not working properly. To use the remote as a thermostat, Use “I FEEL” button on the remote, if this remote function is compatible with your air conditioner model then it should work. Regarding Question 2: It seems some bearings or belt is dry which should be fixed ASAP.
Recently we bought Gree ac. Heating mode does not seem to work properly. The fan blows hot air, which is very annoying, only in one corner of the room. The rest of the room does not get heated. We cannot understand this. Thanks in advance.
That’s how All Air Conditioners Work, Just change fan direction towards ceiling to avoid direct hot air.
Saludos como quito el simbolo de arbol de la pantalla del control, solo sale un arbol

Hi- on the Gree remote control, when you press the “temp” button, what does the house symbol mean, the house symbol with the thermostat outside the house and the house symbol with the thermostat inside the house symbol mean?
What does that do?
Also, what does the house symbol with the arrows pointing in and out of the house mean? It’s the one that is with the tree symbol.
Thanks,
Mel
Hello Melanie, Home symbol with thermostat in it means indoor temperature being displayed. Similarly, home symbol with thermostat outside means outside temperature, Read more above. Whereas, home symbol with arrows pointing in and out means scavenging function that brings fresh air ( not available in all ac but your remote may have it ).
Hello,we have buyed 3 grée standing ac ,but After installation nono or them work , how to set it please??
make sure it is properly installed, then use remote controller to turn it on and select a proper mode ( cool, heat etc ). Read full article above.
Our Gree ac turns off at night automatically. We do not have a timer set and the filter is clean. We wake up hot and have to turn it back on. Any idea why this is happening?
That is strange, power off electricity while ac is running and turn back on ( not with remote ), if the ac does not turn on and start working automatically in few minutes, that means it is not saving the last settings and at night there’s power fluctuation
Thank you for the information. I should have mentioned. The unit is part of a three head with one condenser unit. It does not happen on the other units
I’m afraid you need an expert checkup, try lowering the temperature and see if it turns off, in that case the head is bigger than the room size or there is a problem with thermostat. Furthermore, does it completely turns off or just stops cooling
Is there any way to know that the compressor is ON working or OFF
hi, I set the heater it goes on and off at desired temp/ Ac does not do that.. like i will have at 77 and kepts running.. Am i doing something wrong. just keeps going. I set hearter 68-70 on and off. thought higer temp on ac not run as long. brand new system
Hello Natasha, it’s hard to understand what you’re talking about. Does your ac heater keeps running even after reaching desired temperature ?
Hi,my gree invertor isn’t tripping and also after pressing mute button, symbol is showing but sound doesn’t stop
Make sure you pointed the remote towards indoor unit. Replace remote batteries If other functions are not working correctly, if other settings working then maybe a sensor problem.
Hi, what does this house and tree symbols means? Should we keep both the symbols? Or any one of them, please guide.
Regards
These are health and scavenging functions, not available in many models. You can keep any one or both.
Sir our AC automatically power off after 5 hours of it’s use how solve this problem
Looks like a timer is been set, remove the OFF timer, otherwise just reset the remote
Hi,
My gree unit is not cooling properly, even the gas is full and for sure no leakage. Room size is 3×4. When I feel the pipes on the outdoor unit is is extremely cold. But inside the room is warm, What would be the problem
Check filters and make sure room and pipes are well insulated. Ac pipes should not be exposed and must be covered in insulation.
When i try to set my ac, it get back to the other setting and then remote stops working.

Hi,
How can I turn off beep sound?
Use Quiet or Light button
Due to forest fires they tell us to use AC with inside air circulation only. Can you tell me how to set it to cool without pulling outside air in?
Simply, do not use Scavenging Function in Gree Ac, represented with a home icon with arrow in and out. However, most wall mounted models does not support scavenging so there is nothing to worry about.
AA,I’ve Gree inverter fairy series. When light shuts down and turn back on, AC looses previous swing and flap setting. Is there is anyway to set them and then set them as default to remain as it is when light goes off and on thanks Zubair

hello
I need to leave my ac on in my institute and go home while the ac is working to keep the temperature down at all times. is it possible to set the ac in auto mode so that it shuts down automatically at a certain temperature? otherwise it will break down after nonstop working during the nights after sometime… is this concept even correct?
It is simple, if you need only cooling, you can set it to cooling mode, set the temperature, set fan to auto, and it will work just right. If you don’t need it 24 hours, then set timer OFF so it can auto turn off, similarly you can also set timer ON
is there a mode that makes the ac turn on and off automatically to keep the temperature constant at a certain level and at the same time rest the device? can the temperature be set in auto mode? because the remote control of my device doesn’t allow this…
thanks in advance
Hi,thanks for a great summary. What does the icon mean – it looks like headphones, next to the AUTO icon? Thanks
Do you mean next to FAN AUTO icon? that’s a signal icon. it will blink when you press any button
I love gree but it’s too expensive in Pakistan
Hi, I have gree inverter fairy series. I am frustrated because when i set temperature to 26 my ac chills the room to about 20c measured with room thermometre. Cooling is good thing but I want to save electricity cost too. Kindly let me know how to fix
It seems the thermostat is not working correctly, get it checked by a technician. Slight 1 or 2 degree change is normal due to the nature of thermostat. As ac may cool faster then thermostat reading speed
My ac shows PL and then the temperature is shown for sometime what does this mean and AC is not cooling. The Gas is full and not leaking
It is under voltage problem, make sure your electric supply voltage to air conditioner is around 220 V, plus this problem may arise due to low quality cable attached to ac unit or low quality switch and wiring.
In my gree ac temperature increases or decreases by 1 degree c for each push on + or- sign in the remote. Is there any way to happen it 0.5 degree insted of 1 degree.
No, but you can use Fahrenheit
Hi,
