What is E0 Error Code in Gree Ac :
The E0 error in Gree Air Conditioner means there is a problem with Water Pump which works for de-humidification. This error is also called as Water Pump Protection Error.
What will happen with E0 error
Compressor and Water Pump will stop working and the fan will also stop after 3 min.
Causes of E0 error :
Water pump is damaged or some component on liquid level switch is not working properly.
How to Fix E0 Error in Gree Ac :
- Check Water inlet / outlet for blockage – Clean it
- Wire of liquid level switch is not working – Replace wire
- Water Pump is faulty – Replace water pump
- Liquid level switch resistance is abnormal – Replace switch
- If above does not work – Replace Controller main board
What is E1 Error in Gree Ac :
The E1 error in Gree Ac represents high pressure protection and means there is a fault related to high pressure sensor.
Causes of E1 error :
Common reasons of increased pressure in Gree Ac are dirty coils, overcharging, failed fans or faulty high pressure sensor / switch.
How to Fix E1 Error :
- if caused by reverse heating or cooling – change operation mode
- if fan stops working or reverses during cooling – check fan
- if water pump is not open or have low flow during heating – check water pump
- if expansion wall does not open – replace it
- Check pressure pump, if not closed or loose wire – replace wire / pressure pump
- Clean heat exchanger
- if filter blocks – Replace filter

- Check condenser for blockage
- Check refrigerant level
- As a last option, change main board
What is E2 Error in Gree Ac :
The E2 error in Gree Ac represents Freeze Protection and it is related to evaporator temperature sensor. Freeze protection is normal protection and not a malfunction.
Causes of E2 error in Gree Ac :
When evaporative temperature is lower than protective temperature in cooling or dry mode.
What will happen when E2 error occur :
Compressor and Condenser fan motor will stop until evaporative temperature is higher than the protective temperature and the compressor is stopped for 3 minutes. There may be a noise issue due to ice breaking out.
How to Fix E2 Error in Gree Ac :

What is E4 Error in Gree Ac :
The E4 error in Gree Air Conditioner is high temperature of the compressor discharge. If discharge temperature is higher than protective(safe) temperature value then the unit displays E4 error.
Causes of E4 Error
E4 error occurs due to a protection mechanism from very high temperature compressor discharge. The error is sent by compressor high temperature discharge protection sensor.
What happens in E4 error :
When there is high temperature compressor discharge error 6 times, the unit will switch off and will not recover automatically as it needs to be re-energized after switching off power.
How to Fix E4 error in Gree Ac :
- Check if discharge temperature around “compressor discharge temperature sensor” below 115 degree Celsius.
- If it below 115 degree Celsius, check the sensor is working otherwise replace the sensor.
- If sensor is working then replace the main board
- If temperature is above 115 degree, then check for any leakage in pipes, weld the leakage point and recharge refrigerant after vacuum pumping and pressure retaining are passed.
What is E5 Error in Gree Ac :
The E5 error in Gree Air Conditioner means the electric supply voltage is not stable. The reason maybe very high voltage or fluctuating low voltage.
What happens in E5 error
The outdoor unit will turn off if you are using Cool or Dry mode, or turn off completely in heat mode.
How to Fix E5 error in Gree Ac
- Check power supply voltage for high low
- Check the compressor wiring
- if above works, check over current protection sensor
- As a last option, change main board
What is E6 Error in Gree Ac :
The E6 error in Gree Air Conditioner represents a communication problem between indoor and outdoor unit main boards.
Causes of E6 error
Communication wire between indoor and outdoor unit or main board itself
How to Fix e6 error in Gree Ac
- Check the wire is properly connected
- Check the wire does not have open circuit
- Replace damaged wire
- If problems remains, replace the main board
What is E7 Error in Gree Ac :
The E7 error in Gree Air Conditioner means there is a conflict of operation modes between indoor and outdoor unit. In simple words, indoor unit is in heat mode while the outdoor unit is in cool mode.
Causes of E7 error
The main reason why e7 error occur is flow switch failure, other reasons maybe a loose wire or pump failure.
How to Fix E7 Error in Gree Ac
- Check power cable and restart
- If pump does not start it may need to be replaced
- In 3 phase unit, if pump rotates in reverse, adjust phase sequence
- Clean filter if blocked
What is E8 Error in Gree Ac
The E8 error in Gree Air Conditioner arises due to malfunction in indoor unit fan motor or the main board.
Causes of E8 error
- Faulty fan motor
- Loose wires
- Faulty main PCB board
How to fix e8 error in Gree Ac
- Check wires of indoor fan motor
- Replace indoor fan motor
- Replace the main board if problem remains
What is E9 Error in Gree Ac :
The E9 error in Gree Air Conditioner means there is a problem with indoor unit water pump or water level.
Causes of E9 Error :
- Loose wire of water pump
- Faulty water pump
How to Fix E9 Error in Gree Ac :
- if water overflows, check water drainage pump
- Check for any blockage in water drain pipe
- if water not overflowed, check the voltage of liquid level switch – replace if faulty
- Replace main board if liquid level switch voltage is fine.
- Check cables of water drainage pump if its not working

ERRORS STARTING WITH ‘H’
What is H0 Error in Gree Ac :
When you’re using Heating Mode and Heating inner Tube Temperature gets too high then this error is reported. Compressor operating frequency decreases due to this problem.
What is H1 Error in Gree Ac :
If there is too much frost on Outdoor Unit Condenser then this error will occur and both indoor fan and outdoor compressor will stop temporarily and the unit will enter defrost mode.
In defrost mode, control sensor of the outdoor unit heat exchanger activates and switches off heat injection to the indoor unit and divert the heat to outdoor unit for defrosting.
H1 error will resolve itself after defrosting, if not check the outdoor unit to see if it is working. Otherwise call a technician to check control sensor and heat exchanger.
What is H3 Error in Gree Ac :
The H3 error is due to Compressor Overload Protection and originates from Compressor Overload Switch.
If the units detects overload switch is cut off under ON or stand by state, the unit will report this error. If it happens 3 times, then the unit will not auto recover. Switch off the unit or re-energize the unit after cutting off power to eliminate this protection.
What is H4 Error in Gree Ac :
The H4 error in Gree Air Conditioner is due to overload protection for evaporator and condenser temperature.
If unit detects that the tube temperature is higher than protective temperature value, the unit will report overload protection. The unit will not restart operation before 3 mins and until the temperature gets lower than protective value.
If it happens 6 times, the unit will need to be manually powered off, re-energized and then restarted.
What is H5 Error in Gree Ac :
The H5 error in Gree Air Conditioner means there is a problem with IPM ( intelligent power module )
How to Fix H5 error
- Check Compressor phase sequence
- Check to see if terminals are loose
- Replace main board
- Otherwise, Replace compressor
What is H6 Error in Gree Ac :
The H6 error in Gree in Conditioner represents a malfunction of condenser fan motor.
If the unit does not receive a signal from condenser fan motor for 30 seconds when the fan motor is operating, then the system will return H6 error. The unit can automatically recover from this unless it happens 6 times within an hour. In this case, you should cut the power off, re-energize the unit and then restart.
What is H7 Error in Gree Ac :
The H7 error in Gree Air Conditioner means there is de-synchronizing of compressor motor in outdoor unit.
How to Fix H7 error
- Check Compressor phase sequence
- Make sure wire terminals are not loose
